Well-preserved, complete skeleton
The warrior mummy, which is currently on loan from Mongolia for this year’s big special exhibition at Moesgaard, was Monday, 20th August, transported to the Department of Forensic Medicine at Aarhus University for a CT-scan. The scan is part of an agreement with the university in Ulaan Bataar, Mongolia, who also anxiously await the results of the examination. The final results will be available later on. The initial examination of the scan showed that the mummy is very well-preserved and has a complete skeleton.
The mummy is now back in the special exbition “On the Steppes of Genghis Khan – Mongolia’s Nomads’ at Moesgaard Museum. The exhibition can be seen until April 7, 2019.
